AMERICAN ASSETS
Financial Corporation
Independent · Family-founded · Serving families since 1986

We do not start with a product. We start with the plan — and then search a broad universe of companies for the solution that serves it best.

Who we are

American Assets Financial Corp. was founded in 1986 by Bruce J. Smith III and Monica Smith and is headquartered in Mount Union, Pennsylvania. For nearly four decades, the firm has served one purpose: when a family’s financial plan calls for an insurance solution, find the right one — deliberately, competitively, and from the whole marketplace rather than a house list.

That makes American Assets something different from a typical insurance agency. We have always operated as a consulting and fulfillment company: our work begins where careful planning ends, researching and identifying solutions from a broad universe of choices that are best aligned with the advanced planning and management strategies designed by the team of advisors at The WealthKare Investment Center.

Where many firms favor a single company or a small group of companies, we use a competitive selection process to find solutions best suited to help families optimize their financial goals.

We are not a household name, and that is by design. American Assets works quietly, family by family, alongside the planning work that decides whether an insurance product belongs in a household’s picture at all — and which one, and why.

How a solution earns its place

Insurance products are instruments, not answers. The answer is the plan. Our process exists to make sure the instrument serves it — and to make every candidate solution compete for the role.

STEP ONE

Start with the plan

The need is defined by the planning work — the income, risk, tax, and legacy strategies designed by the WealthKare advisory team — never by a product looking for a home.

STEP TWO

Search the whole universe

We research the marketplace broadly — many companies, many contract designs — rather than drawing from one carrier or a short favored list.

STEP THREE

Make candidates compete

Candidate solutions are compared against the specific job the plan needs done — features, costs, guarantees, and fit — and the comparison, not a relationship, decides.

STEP FOUR

Fulfill and stand by it

When a solution is selected, we implement it and stay with it — servicing the decision as the family’s circumstances and the marketplace evolve.

What we offer

American Assets Financial Corp. offers insurance products — including annuities and life insurance — through licensed insurance professionals. Whether any product suits a particular family is a specific question with a specific answer, and we treat it that way: recommendations are particular to a household’s circumstances, and “no product” is always among the acceptable outcomes.

Our relationship with WealthKare

American Assets works alongside The WealthKare Investment Center, an SEC-registered investment adviser founded by the same family. The relationship is disclosed plainly: when WealthKare’s planning work identifies a genuine need for an insurance product, that product may be offered through American Assets, and commissions are earned when it is. WealthKare’s Form ADV Part 2A describes this relationship and its conflicts, and governs in all cases.

Why independence matters here

A firm that favors one company’s products will reliably find that company’s products suitable. A firm whose search begins with the whole marketplace has no such gravity to fight. Our independence is not a slogan; it is the mechanical condition that lets a competitive selection process mean something — the freedom to recommend whatever the comparison actually supports, including nothing at all.

That is what a family should expect when planning comes first: the strategy is designed on the advisory side, the marketplace is searched on ours, and the solution that wins is the one that serves the family — not the one that serves the seller.
